Let’s stock the cupboards and help support our community! Garber is partnering with United Way to collect nonperishable food items for the Summer Stock Up Event.
Now through June 28, bring food items to any of our six local dealerships in the Great Lakes Bay Region, who are each serving as collection spots for United Way.
“During the summer months with our kiddos home on summer break, providing healthy meals can be a big challenge for families who are working hard but struggle to make ends’ meet,” said Audra Davis, president and chief executive officer of United Way of Saginaw County.
“Please join us in providing food solutions by either donating shelf stable food or monetary donations that will help ensure every child’s belly in the Great Lakes Bay Region is satisfied,” she said. “We are truly grateful for the support and collaboration with our friends at Garber over the years. We need your help to ensure every family living in need has solutions to food insecurities.”
All items will go directly to Hidden Harvest: the region’s only prepared and perishable surplus food rescue program. The food will then be distributed throughout the region.
Items you can donate include:
- Canned vegetables
- Canned fruits
- Soup
- Baby formula
- Gluten-free foods
- Peanut butter
- Boxed dinners
- Pasta
- Cereal
- Oatmeal
- Snacks
- Cooking oil
- Condiments
- Spices
Drop off any of the above items to one of our six following locations during the dealership’s business hours, Monday – Saturday:

Located in Saginaw, Hidden Harvest’s mission is to alleviate hunger and end food waste in the Great Lakes Bay Region by providing a safe and coordinated system of rescuing surplus food and redistributing it to feed people in need.
